Blessed Are

In our life we become poor in spirit at one time or another. We see many changes in our lives from birth to our death. But in between we see the hope of our salvation and the promises of eternal life thru Jesus Christ.

Mat 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are the poor in spirit; These are the people that are convinced of sin and unrighteousness, which are willing to accept the truth about themselves. Understanding that there is no hope without a saviour, a intercessor a guide to God.

Mat 5:4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

Isa 61:3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

These are the people that have compassion on others, who love all even if they are not loved. Those that cry over sin, knowing that sin will eventually bring in destruction.

Mat 5:5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. These are the people that do not resist the evil in this world but return Love for hate. Giving understanding to those that are without understanding and accepting persecution without trying to recompense the evil that is done unto them.

Mat 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. These are the people that have a great desire to learn about God. Their hunger for the word will be filled and the righteousness that man is in lack of will be bestowed upon them from the Father. For mans righteousness is as filthy rags before God.

Mat 5:7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Those that give mercy to others in lew of debt and obligation will also receive mercy from the Father for their debt and obligation. God looked beyond our faults and found our needs. Mat 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

Pure;

1. Separate from all heterogeneous or extraneous matter; clear; free from mixture; as pure water; pure clay; pure sand; pure air; pure silver of gold.

2. Free from moral defilement; without spot; not sullied or tarnished; incorrupt; undebased by moral turpitude; holy Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil. Hab 1. Prov 20

3. Genuine; real; true; incorrupt; unadulterated; as pure religion. James 1

4. Unmixed; separate from any other subject or from every thing foreign.

5. Free from guilt; guiltless; innocent

6. Not vitiated with improper or corrupt words or phrases; as a pure style of discourse or composition

7. Disinterested; as pure benevolence

8. Chaste; as a pure virgin

9. Free from vice or moral turpitude. Titus 1

10. Ceremonially clean; unpolluted. Ezra 6

11. Free from any thing improper; as, his motives are pure

12. Mere; absolute; that and that only; unconnected with any thing else; as a pure villain. He did that from pure compassion, or pure good nature. To be able to see God while in the flesh is almost impossible, even Moses only could view Gods hinder parts, but in the spirit all will see the face of God, either as Judge or as Friend.

Mat 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. These are the people that strive for peace, weather it be on a national scale or on a person to person scale. Mat 5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. There are so many Christians that are being persecuted around the world today, as with Paul, these people are in danger of robbers and even their own countrymen. Many are being imprisoned, shot, beaten and killed for their testimony of Jesus Christ.

Mat 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. The word Blessed in Hebrew means Happy. Happy are you that are reviled, persecuted, and falsely accused of evil. This world is coming to an end. Men seek righteousness in all the wrong places. They seek to be self-righteous, self-justified, but still they all fall short. A Christian is happy for they are, called, Justified, Glorified and predestined.

Rom 8:30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

Barnes states; Rom 8:30 - Moreover ... - In this verse, in order to show to Christians the true consolation to be derived from the fact that they are predestinated, the apostle states the connection between that predestination and their certain salvation. The one implied the other.

Whom he did predestinate - All whom he did predestinate.

Them he also called - Called by his Spirit to become Christians. He called, not merely by an external invitation, but in such a way as that they in fact were justified. This cannot refer simply to an external call of the gospel, since those who are here said to be called are said also to be justified and glorified. The meaning is, that there is a certain connection between the predestination and the call, which will be manifested in due time. The connection is so certain that the one infallibly secures the other.

He justified - Not that he justified them from eternity, for this was not true; and if it were, it would also follow that he glorified them from eternity, which would be an absurdity. It means that there is a regular sequence of events - the predestination precedes and secures the calling; and the calling precedes and secures the justification. The one is connected in the purpose of God with the other; and the one, in fact, does not take place without the other. The purpose was in eternity. The calling and justifying in time.

Them he also glorified - This refers probably to heaven. It means that there is a connection between justification and glory. The one does not exist without the other in its own proper time; as the calling does not subsist without the act of justification. This proves, therefore, the doctrine of the perseverance of the saints. There is a connection infallible and ever existing between the predestination and the final salvation.

They who are subjects of the one are partakers of the other. That this is the sense is clear,

(1) Because it is the natural and obvious meaning of the passage.

(2) because this only would meet the design of the argument of the apostle. For how would it be a source of consolation to say to them that whom God foreknew he predestinated, and whom he predestinated he called, and whom he called he justified, and whom he justified might fall away and be lost forever? Can we now understand the meaning of these scriptures? Can we see the infallibility of Gods plan of Salvation?

I believe we can. Happy are you, who seek out Salvation, Justification and Glorification thru the word of God by your faith in His Son Jesus the Christ. Our debt to God was paid by Jesus on the Cross and our obligation to God is clear By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated (Solemnly dedicated to or set apart for a high purpose) for us, through the veil,(Make undecipherable or imperceptible by obscuring or concealing) that is to say, his flesh; Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable(Showing reason or sound judgment) service.

Tit 3:3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

Our consecration was not in the flesh which we were all guilty of unrighteousness but rather in the spirit which God recognizes as His. For God created all things visible and invisible, is it not reasonable that God can do what He wills with that which He has created?
